Halloween is now behind us and a wonderful Christmas season awaits us. I have already started sharing Christmas related amigurumi patterns for a few days and this Christmas I will share with you all the free crochet patterns that I think will make you happy. Now I want to introduce you to a wonderful mushroom amigurumi pattern. We see that the toy made using very nice color tones has a nice facial expression.

Super Bulky yarn in green, white, red colors (suggested: Himalaya Dolphin Baby, Yarnart Dolce)
15 – 20 cm strand of white and black sport weight yarn for the face embroidery
5 mm crochet hook
10 mm safety eyes
Fiberfill for stuffing

Bobble st – work till you have 5 loops on the hook before you pull through
FLO – Front Loops Only
BLO – Back Loops Only
Size: if you use the same yarn and hook size, your mushroom frog will be 4.33 in = 11 cm tall.

Crochet in spiral using green yarn.
R1: 6 sc in MR
R2: inc * 6 = 12 sc
R3: (1 sc, inc) * 6 = 18 sc
R4: (2 sc, inc) * 6 = 24 sc
R5 – R7: 24 sc (3 rounds)
R8: (2 sc, dec) * 6 = 18 sc
R9: (1 sc, dec), Bobble st, 1 sc, dec, (1 sc, dec), Bobble st, 1 sc, dec, (1 sc, dec) * 2 = 12 sc
Insert the safety eyes in the bobble stitches.
Stuff the frog.
R10: dec * 6 = 6 sc
Change the yarn to the white one.
R11: 6 sc FLO
R12: inc * 6 = 12 sc
R13: (1 sc, inc) * 6 = 18 sc
R14: (2 sc, inc) * 6 = 24 sc
R15: (3 sc, inc) * 6 = 30 sc

Change the yarn to the red one. Bring the white yarn to the front, and cut approx. 25 – 30 cm long yarn tail for embroidering the lines on mushroom.

Do not stuff the mushroom.
R24: 12 sc
R25: dec * 6 = 6 sc
Finish crochet, tighten the hole. Form the mushroom and randomly embroider the white lines on it. Make sure to keep your yarn loose inside, so it doesn`t crook the hat.
With the white sport weight yarn embroider the light reflection around the eyes. With the black sport weight yarn embroider the smile. And with the red bulky yarn embroider the blush under the eyes.
